The Shey Cowl is a beginner friendly stranded colourwork pattern, knit in the round. Knitting the Shey Cowl is an easy, meditative experience, and I loved every moment of it. Sarah Taylor Made is the designer, whos mission I wholeheartedly support and I believe this project deserves all the support it can get.
This design was inspired by a photo frame that Sarah's friend Shey gifted her before she passed away. Sarah wanted to create something beautiful that celebrated her friendship with Shey and honour her memory. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the pattern are donated to Lifeline Australia, the charity chosen by Shey's family.
To enhance this experience, I have curated special kits featuring White Gum Wool, a delight to both knit with and wear (oh my, to wear!). This ethical and sustainable yarn is sourced just an hour away from me—be sure to visit White Gum Wool’s website to learn more about their incredible work.
Shey Cowl Yarn Kits
Each yarn kit contains:
50g of 8ply White Gum Wool yarn (contrasting colour, as seen on top in the photos)
100g of 8ply White Gum Wool yarn (main colour)
There are two kit options to choose from:
Yarn Kit + Pattern – Includes the yarn kit and a pattern card. The pattern card contains a unique code to download the pattern on Ravelry and add it to your library.
Just the Yarn Kit – Includes the yarn kit without the pattern.
Celebrate friendship, honour a beautiful memory, and create something special with your own Shey Cowl.
Shey Cowl Kits
Hand wash gently in luke warm water, using a neutral non Eucalyptus wool wash.
Dry in the shade and store flat and away from light.
I spend a lot of time working on the images to be as colour accurate as possible. I resorted to using filters to assist you to see the contrasting colour as accurately as possible.
There may be colour variation due to computer screen resolutions. There are also colour variations due to the nature of hand dyed yarns.
